@mahamadou yes, I can help you prepare properly.

For a Procurement Manager interview in a gold mining company, they’ll be looking for proof you can deliver three things:

  • Cost savings without disrupting production

  • Strong supplier and contract control in a high-risk environment

  • Safe, compliant procurement (HSSE, ethics, anti-bribery, ESG, local content)

Here’s how to prepare so you come across as “mining-ready” rather than generic procurement.

What to focus on for mining procurement

  • Continuity of supply for critical items (MRO spares, tyres, reagents, fuel, wear parts, pumps, motors, bearings, electrical consumables)

  • Lead times and logistics (remote sites, customs, Incoterms, expediting, freight, local warehousing)

  • Contracting models (framework agreements, call-offs, rate cards, SLAs, EPC/EPCM and service contracts)

  • Risk management (single-source items, obsolescence, supplier financial health, counterfeit parts, disruptions)

  • Total cost of ownership (not just unit price: uptime, maintenance cost, warranty, spares, training, energy use)

  • Governance (delegations of authority, tendering, conflict of interest, due diligence, audit trail)

Your “tell me about yourself” should be procurement-impact led

Keep it tight and commercial:

  • What you buy (categories) and in what environment (site/remote/unionised/regulated)

  • Value delivered (savings, uptime improvements, reduced stockouts, improved contract compliance)

  • Leadership (team size, stakeholder influence with Maintenance, Ops, HSE, Finance)

  • What you’ll bring to them (risk control + cost + reliability)

I can give you some questions I recommend you prepare for, but can you answer these quick questions please:

  • Is the role site-based (mine) or head office, and is it more operational MRO or project/CAPEX focused?

  • What country is the mine in (this affects local content rules, logistics, and contract approach)?

If you paste the job advert (or key requirements) and your current “tell me about yourself” draft, I’ll tighten it and give you a set of role-specific answers you can practise.

Screening round With Senior Technical Recruiter

Hi @Shlok18, a CDW Security Analyst screening call is usually a quick “fit check” with a few technical basics. Your goal is to sound clear, confident, and job-ready.

To tailor this properly, can you tell me two things:

  • Is the role SOC/incident response, or more GRC/compliance?

  • What SIEM/tools are mentioned in the job advert (Splunk, Sentinel, QRadar etc.)?

Pointers to prepare (keep it simple):

  • Have a 45 to 60 second intro ready: your security experience, what alerts/tickets you’ve handled, the tools you’ve used, and what role you want next.

  • Be ready for quick basics: phishing triage, incident response steps, SIEM alert triage, plus networking fundamentals (DNS, HTTP, ports).

  • Prepare one short example: an alert you investigated and how you documented/escalated it.

Richard
