Hi,

I will have a first interview in 2 days with pwc for HealthTech Manager (Advisory). This is in Europe and it will be a behavioural questions interview, online.

Any tips on how to prep?

Many thanks

Hi there,

Well done on securing a first interview with PwC.

Here are some focused tips to help you over the next two days.

First, be very clear on PwC’s core values and advisory mindset. They will be looking for evidence of integrity, collaboration, commercial awareness, and impact. Make sure every example you give shows how you added value for clients, stakeholders, or the organisation.

Second, prepare 4 to 6 strong STAR examples in advance and be ready to adapt them. For a HealthTech Manager role, your examples should ideally cover:

  • Leading or influencing teams without direct authority

  • Managing complex stakeholders (clinical, technical, commercial)

  • Delivering change or transformation in healthcare or digital settings

  • Making decisions with incomplete information

  • Handling resistance or challenge from senior stakeholders

Third, focus on how you think, not just what you did. PwC interviewers often probe with follow-up questions like “Why did you choose that approach?” or “What would you do differently?”. Be ready to explain your judgement and decision-making.

Fourth, because this is online, practise being structured and concise. Pause briefly before answering, signpost your response (“I’ll talk you through the situation, my actions, and the outcome”), and keep your camera, lighting, and posture professional.

Fifth, prepare a strong answer for:

  • “Why PwC?”

  • “Why HealthTech and Advisory?”

  • “Why now?”

These should link PwC’s advisory work, digital health transformation, and your long-term career direction.

I also recommend watching my video on behavioural interview questions and STAR answers, as PwC use this style heavily.

A couple of quick questions so I can tailor the advice further:

  • Is this interview with HR or with a Director/Partner?

  • Do you have the job description to hand, or does it mention specific PwC competencies?

Once I know that, I can help you fine-tune your examples and likely questions.

Richard
