Tell me about you?
I’ve spent several years in hospitality — in sales, personal training, and now bartending — where serving people with care, patience, and attention to safety has been at the center of everything I do. My colleagues often describe me as loyal, respectful, and approachable. I’ve learned how to stay calm under pressure and connect with a wide range of personalities. What I enjoy most is making people feel comfortable and creating a positive experience for them. That’s why Delta stands out to me. Your strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and exceptional service mirrors the values I bring to my work every day. I’d be excited to bring that same level of care and professionalism to every customer I serve with Delta
Hi @gmc_inc86,
Firstly, welcome to the forum! I'll be happy to help you with your Delta FA Interview. The answer you shared is a strong foundation for sure, so here are my thoughts:
You clearly demonstrate the essential qualities needed for a Delta Flight Attendant (customer service experience, staying calm under pressure, and a genuine connection with people).
To make it even stronger, you could finish with a short line about what you will bring to the role from day one, for example reliability, professionalism, and flexibility. In my experience, that will help you to stand out a bit more.
Try adding that in and feel free to let me see your updated answer for more feedback.
Also, feel free to share any further details about your work history, experiences, or skills as that will help me tailor your answer further.
I do have a great video on How to Answer "Tell me about yourself for Cabin Crew".
Also, have you prepared for "Why do you want to be an FA?" yet?
Richard
@richard-mcmunn excellent thank you so much. I will go ahead and add the input of bringing it from day one.Yes sir, i do have a the why I want to be a FA?
i’ll go ahead and post it.
Great, feel free to share when ready and I'll take a look over it for you 🙂
WHY FLIGHT ATTENDANT
I want to become a flight attendant because taking care of people, creating positive experiences, and maintaining a safe environment have been the core of every job I've had. Sales taught me to listen and build trust, personal training taught me patience and safety awareness, and bartending taught me teamwork, communication, and staying calm under pressure. All of these strengths translate perfectly into the flight attendant role, and I'm excited to bring them into a career focused on service and safety.
Hi @gmc_inc86,
Great answer, well done. You clearly link your past roles to the core responsibilities of the FA position, and that’s exactly what Delta are looking for.
I feel you can make this answer even stronger by adding a short line about why Delta specifically, just to show you’ve done your research and that you’re genuinely motivated to join their team. Even something simple like mentioning their reputation for safety, customer care, or teamwork helps set you apart.
You might also add a brief sentence at the end about what you will bring to the role from day one (enthusiasm, reliability, a strong work ethic). That shows confidence and readiness.
Feel free to update it and post your revised version. Be sure to watch this also before you do: https://youtu.be/edBo7QFq9jI
Also, do you know if your Delta interview will be virtual or in-person? I can share some extra tips based on the format.
Richard
Thank you so much, Mr. Richard you are a great person. my interview was last week at the Delta headquarters in Atlanta. Unfortunately, the ball game was a little different with Delta. I was under the impression that everyone was going to get a face-to-face interview, but I guess this round was different and they only selected two zones of participants out of five zones to get an interview in a discreet fashion. Sadly , I wasn’t called for those zones.
Hi @gmc_inc86,
Thank you for the update, and I am really sorry to hear you were not called for the face-to-face stage this time. I know how disappointing that can feel, especially when you have put in so much effort and travelled to the headquarters. But please do not be discouraged. Delta’s process can be extremely competitive, and sometimes the selection on the day comes down to numbers rather than ability.
From what you have shared here, you clearly have the right qualities to succeed as a Flight Attendant, and your answers were very strong. Many candidates who eventually get hired are successful on their second or even third attempt, simply because they go in next time with even more confidence and clarity.
If you are planning to reapply, I would be happy to help you strengthen your preparation even further. The fact that you reached this stage already tells me you are very close.
Do you know when you plan to apply again, or would you like advice on the best timing for that?
Richard
