Hi @olivia,

That’s fantastic, well done on being shortlisted for an international internship! This is a great opportunity to build your confidence and gain valuable experience in tourism and hospitality.

Before I share some focused interview tips, can I ask a few quick questions?

  1. Is the interview going to be online or in person?
  2. And if you can, are you able to share details of the job description, or the company name?

That will help me guide you on what to expect and how to prepare your answers.

Richard

Hi @olivia,

Thank you for the extra details, that sounds like an amazing opportunity with Awesome Travel. They’ll likely want to see your enthusiasm for the hospitality industry, your willingness to learn, and how well you can represent their company in an international setting.

Expect questions such as:

  • “Why do you want to take part in this internship?”

  • “How will you adapt to working in a new culture or environment?”

  • “Tell us about a time you provided excellent service or helped someone.”

  • “What skills or qualities will you bring to the team?”

Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure your answers, even if your examples come from university projects, part-time work, or volunteering. Focus on your communication skills, teamwork, and positive attitude - those are key in hospitality.

This video will also help you prepare: Hospitality Interview Questions & Answers

And then watch this after: Intern Interview Questions Answers

When you find out whether the interview will be online or in person, let me know and I’ll share a few extra tips for that format.

Richard
