Perfect, thanks for confirming that. Since it’s a face-to-face interview for an accounting position, they’ll likely focus on both your technical accounting knowledge and your attention to detail, integrity, and communication skills (which are all essential in the insurance industry).

Be ready for questions like:

• “Can you tell me about your experience with financial reporting or reconciliations?”

• “How do you ensure accuracy when working under pressure?”

• “Describe a time you identified an error and how you corrected it.”

• “Why do you want to work for our company?”

@stuby that's great, you’ve still got plenty of time to prepare. Is this your first accounting role or a more senior role? For “Tell me about yourself”, focus on keeping your answer structured, professional, and relevant to the accounting role by aligning your skills to those of the job role. A good structure to use is my SEAT structure (Skills, Experience/Education, Achievements, and Type of Person you are.

First of all, thank you so much for giving me an opportunity to be interviewed for this position at your company today. My name is .. I am a young financial services professional, 6 years’ experience in the industry and 1 year in hospitality accounting. I can work well in both team oriented and self-directed environments with a proven track record of displaying excellent organizational and communication skills, I currently hold a bachelor’s degree in finance from University of the Bahamas that helped me obtained my accounting skills. Since college, I've worked at Albany as a General Ledger Accountant. During my time there, I've been able to build my skill of attention to detail. My experience at the company has built up my proficiency in Microsoft Office and Accounting software.  I am passionate about this field due to from an early age being a raised in a single mother household that I want to live a better life and later in life during my time pursuing my bachelors degree in my MGMT 101 class I learned that school that majority Bahamians don’t have at least $500 save in their bank account and don’t want to be a part of those statistics. I am very excited about this opportunity because I see a clear path to growing my skills in both accounting and insurance here. I am confident that my experience in attention to detail, organizational and accounting skills will allow me to become a valuable member of your team long-term.
