Hey everyone,
I’ve been invited to interview for a Sales & Events Manager role at a premium restaurant group in Mayfair: https://findajob.dwp.gov.uk/details/16971448 (sorry if I'm not allowed to post links!)
It’s a full-time, on-site position, with an OTE of around £40-£45k. Sounds amazing!
Any advice on what kind of interview questions they might ask? I know hospitality and sales are key, but I’m unsure how to prep specific examples especially around events bookings and guest experiences.
Appreciate any help, thanks!
Congratulations, that sounds like a great opportunity! I'm based in the US, otherwise I probably would have applied too 🤣
In roles like that, they're often looking for examples of how you've driven sales or secured large bookings. Think of times you turned enquiries into events, especially where you've upsold or handled last-minute changes smoothly.
Also be ready to talk through how you build relationships with both clients and the rest of the venue team, especially nervous guests or stressed stakeholders during busy shifts. I hope that helps 😊
Totally agree with @Nagma_22.
I interviewed for a similar role last year and they asked:
“How do you convert casual enquiries into confirmed bookings?”
Make sure to highlight your follow-up process, pitch approach, and how you personalise communication to exceed expectations. Specifically for that Mayfair venue, check their branding values (likely luxury, exclusivity, experience).
Another question they might ask is: “How would you maintain high standards under pressure while still delivering sales?”
